“Farm-to-table” is a food movement and philosophy that emphasizes sourcing ingredients directly from local farms and producers, ensuring that the food is fresh and minimally processed. At Citizen Café, we believe that the same approach to food can be applied to learning Hebrew, and here’s why:
A lot of our students mention that they’ve learned Hebrew in the past, but the vocabulary they’ve learned is either very religious-oriented or not up-to-date מעודכן (meh-ood-khan). That’s why we’ve made it our goal to teach only useful Hebrew—the kind you would hear on the street רחוב (reh-chohv) in Israel. We even incorporate slang and phrases into our lessons that you’re likely to hear in the office or at a restaurant with friends. Language is an ever-evolving entity—speak it like the locals do.
When it comes to food, the quality of the meal depends on the quality of the ingredients. At Citizen Café, our small, intimate classes (10–12 students) guarantee that you’ll receive personalized attention and support. Our teachers מורים (moh-reem) are experts in our unique teaching method, bringing skill and passion to every lesson. Plus, our exclusive online platform provides a seamless and interactive way to continue learning ללמוד (leel-mohd) outside of class.
Just as farm-to-table dining isn’t for everyone, our method might not be the right fit for every learner. We understand that some may prefer different styles of learning or larger group settings. However, for those who value a highly personalized, community-focused approach, centered around contemporary, modern Hebrew—our method is tailored for you.
